PROFILE - Meet the MAT's Newest Professor, Joanne Gray
Recently, I had the privilege of sitting with Joanne Gray, the newest addition to the School of Education faculty at the Boise Center. Joanne, an Assistant Professor of Education, comes to GFU’s Master of Arts in Teaching faculty already very familiar with the program; she experienced the program as a student in Boise’s very first MAT cohort, T1. Often, it can be beneficial for a graduate program to bring an alum on board to teach, as there is a familiarity with not only the program, but also among colleagues, as faculty can easily assimilate the alum into the fold, knowing the level at which the “newbie” performed when they were a student. This being the case, Joanne’s fit for GFU’s MAT program goes further; it transcends her professional qualifications AND her experience as a student. In fact, through learning just a little about Joanne’s background and how she navigated toward her current role, it becomes easy to see that she was walking the School of Education’s mantra from before she connected to Fox. Read Joanne's story HERE.
