NEWS - MBA cohort takes on the challenge in team building exercises

On September 12, 2009, M15 – GFU Boise’s incoming MBA cohort – participated in the customary cohort kickoff event: the Quaker Hill ropes course. Here are some of their take-aways:

“The program was phenomenal. This was a great way to build confidence, trust, and rapport with each other. I learned a lot about myself, my teammates, and to be patient. Thanks, everyone for your support!” – Todd Rogers, Dermatological Sales Representative

“These activities are not for the faint of heart. I especially struggle with a great fear of heights. It made my stomach turn to think about even climbing halfway up the telephone pole. I was not alone… However, the one thing we all experienced was a great sense of teamwork and unity. It was amazing the level of support every person exhibited. I, personally, had some great cheerleaders who helped me achieve feats I never thought possible.” - Lindsey Wallgren, Enrollment Counselor

“I was amazed at the level of support everyone gave. The ropes course really challenged me, forcing me to step out of my comfort zone. I really didn't want to spend a Saturday doing it. After it was all done and over with, I felt I knew everyone a lot better, and that they knew me. I am really glad I had the chance to participate in such a great team building activity” – Jennifer Wambolt, FGHQ Customer and Pricing Analyst

“I had hoped to do all the activities, but it was a comfort to know that it was a 'challenge by choice' event. I learned how very nice the members of our cohort are. Without the extra help, I definitely wouldn't have been able to complete some of the activities. Thank you, everyone!” – Cindy Pawling, Senior Programming Analyst

“10 years ago, I participated at a similar ropes course out of state. When it came time to engage in the activities at a higher level, I declined.
Now, flash forward to Quaker Hill, and I soared with the eagles!! Thanks to my team for the constant encouragement and support that I experienced with you all!” – Adam Cuneo, Account Executive
